Fisher was part of a team that first introduced alkaline hydrolysis equipment to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He assisted in the development of the chemical and operational best practices for alkaline hydrolysis at both Mayo Clinic and UCLA. "I look forward to supporting NFDA and CANA in educating cremationists and funeral directors on the use of alkaline hydrolysis equipment.” Seminar approved for up to 3 CE hours by APFSP and licensing boards in most states and provinces.

Reconstructive Techniques for Facial Repair Resulting From Trauma

Vernie Fountain will identify a wide variety of techniques that the professional embalmer can employ to transform some of the most severe trauma cases into an acceptable and identifiable condition. The entire focus of the techniques will be to transform trauma cases from a non-viewable to a viewable state. Fountain is a strong advocate for the value of embalming and reconstruction for disfiguring injuries in order to allow family and friends to view their loved one before final disposition. (4 CE hours)
